SGV Week 6 Invites Preview: Clovis & Central Park Are the Focus

This weekend’s Clovis Invitational, run on the California State Meet Course at Woodward Park, is always a strong meet, with half of the state’s ranked XC teams taking part, including eights SGV schools. SGV League Meets – Week 6: Previews & Results

This week begins the second cycle of league cluster meets. In most leagues, with two cluster meets and then the finals, the first two meets each count for 25% of the team standings and the league finals meet accounts for the remaining 50%.

Stanford: Six Schools Go Against NoCal’s Best

SGV and CIF-SS #1 Claremont leads a contingent of six San Gabriel Valley schools to compete in the prestigious Stanford Invitational – back after a one year hiatus.

Week 5 Preview: SGV Scatters Around SoCal… & Oregon

While a majority of the San Gabriel cross country teams will be off this weekend – at least seventeen local schools will run in four different SoCal meets, all on very different courses, with different formats. By the end of this week, all of the SGV Schools will have participated in their first league cluster meet. This week features perhaps the region’s hottest contest in the battle for the Del Rio League.

Woodbridge Invite Preview: Many Runners. Much Races.

The Woodbridge Invitational is huge. It’s run over two days by 320 schools, nearly 100 in just the elite Sweepstakes and Rated races. Teams are coming from 14 states and five different time zones. It’s outgrown several locations and is now held in Norco rather than at Woodbridge in Irvine.

Week 1 Preview: Big Meets Under the Lights.

San Gabriel Valley schools Claremont and Rosemead host two of the CIF-SS’s biggest meets this weekend – both under the lights! Here We Go! Week 0 Preview

The new, earlier cross country and track season kicks off this week. There’s only a few meets this weekend, with most teams holding off their first competition to next weekend (or even the next) so we’ll call this Week Zero.

Three Cluster Meets This Week

Last week saw the last of the first round of league cluster meets, and this week will see three leagues competing for the second time this season, this time with relatively cooler temperatures.
