With a strong display of pack running, West Covina beat out Los Altos for the top spot, 35-41.  The Conqs Adam Preston (16:19) and Danny Venegas (16:53) were up front as expected, going 1-3, along with 3rd placed Walnut‘s Osamah Hassan, 2nd in 16:35 and Julian Serrano, 4th 16:58.

But you gotta be able to count to five in XC, and WestCo brought the next five across the line with just an eight second gap! Kenny Peterson, 5th/17:01 led the Bulldogs, and Oscar Chavez, 9th/17:09, closed the door.

On the girls side, Walnut’s  Arriaga sisters dominated as expected, with Chole 1st/18:26 and Emma 2nd/19:04.  The first non-family member was teammate Karina Galvan at 20:35 for third.  Los Altos also put three in the top ten, led by Wednesday Osuna 4th/20:41, but WHS closed it out with just 25 points to LAHS 58 for the win.  Chino was third, led by Sierra Santoyo 4th/20:45.
