Cross Country teams will often travel, for competition and for experience. Â Claremont flew to Washington state to part in the Fort Steilacoom Invitational at a beautiful park in Lakewood, WA.
The Wolfpack competed in the top Gold division, limited to teams that project to finish in the top ten of their state competitions, and CHS certainly confirmed that they belonged.
The Claremont girls thumped a strong PNW field with just 25 points and a team time of 96:79 on a rolling 5000 meter course, defeating the second placed team by nearly five minutes.  Junior Annie Boos led a 3-4-5-6-7 finish at 18:58.40 with junior Jax Heckers closing out the scoring at 19:16.30.
The boys faced an even stiffer challenge, but answered well to finish narrowly second to nationally ranked Tahoma HS 48-68.  Junior Ryan Renken led Claremont with a 5th/15:52.70 finish.
