SGV XC: Week 3 Preview

The San Antonio League was scheduled to kick off the cluster meet season yesterday on the Bonelli Park 3 mile course, but second-hand word says the meet was postponed due to high heat.

This weekend, comparatively fewer ESGV teams will compete and they will be more spread out, heading to Orange County and Northern California in search of fast times.
West Covina and Azusa will be on the biggest stage this weekend, as they travel to the prestigious Standford Invitational, a 5k race contested on the university’s golf course.  The Bulldog girls, led by senior Jessica Mendez, and fresh off their win at the Rosemead Invite, will be looking for high finish in the tough Division I race.

Four teams will race over three miles of rolling hills at the Sunny Hills Invite at Craig Park in Fullerton.  Baldwin Park, Charter Oak, Rowland and San Dimas will take part.  The Rowland girls bring the strongest group to the meet, while the Baldwin Park boys are looking to continue their recent momentum

Diamond Bar‘s fast developing team will be looking for fast times and cool weather at the Dana Hills Invite, which is run over 3 miles on a net downhill course at the high school.  The Bhrama boys are looking for greater depth while the girls are developing.
